Nine Area Students Admitted to Class of 2017
Our 36-strong team of volunteer alumni interviewed 144 applicants for Harvard’s Class of 2017. Nine have been admitted and another seventeen are waitlisted.
These numbers are virtually unchanged from last year’s 134, nine and sixteen. Harvard’s overall acceptance rate this year is 5.8%; ours is 6.25%. Like those in Lake Wobegon, all of the children are above average here in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties.
The nine admittees attend the following area schools: Adolfo Camarillo High, Arroyo Grande High, Buena High, Carpinteria High, Moorpark High, Rio Mesa High, San Luis Obispo High and Thacher School (2).
